In a new series launching on Netflix next month, Abstract: The Art of Design will present “the most creative designers” from all fields within the design-world. From the Danish architect behind the new Tate Modern, Bjarke Ingels (of BIG), to Nike shoe designer, Tinker Hatfield and the lauded set designer that counts Kanye and Beyonce as clients, Es Devlin.
“You’re looking for a moment when you feel you’re as close to the soul,” says London-based photographer, Platon in the inaugural official trailer. “That’s what good design is.”
Over eight episodes, the series – which was produced by WIRED Magazine’s editor in chief, Scott Dadich – will explore creativity and the visionary designers who have shaped the world around us. The team of producers also includes oscar-winning Morgan Neville as well as a team of leading documentary makers. “Every episode stands as its own film, adapting the design sensibilities of our subjects,” says Dadich.
The show airs on 10 February on Netflix.
