Martin Creed is Doing a Secret London Performance

At a one-day festival in Soho

  • Written by Amuse Team

Former Turner Prize winner, Martin Creed will be in London this weekend for a one off performance at Festival Embassy. Taking place this weekend at The House of St Barnabas, the festival is co-hosted by Eat Your Own Ears (the guys behind Field Day) and will bring DJs, artists and filmmakers together for this one-day event.

Known for his numerically named performance pieces, paintings and installations, Creed is internationally known for his esoteric and conceptual works. With recent works like ‘What The Fuck Am I Doing?’ and ‘Blow and Suck’, Creed has said that he wants his work to connect more with real people in an emotional way.

Speaking in a characteristically opaque manner about his upcoming London performance Creed told Amuse, “I find myself here in this world trapped inside me looking out and I don’t know what to do. I can’t ignore myself, but I can’t go along with everything either, because I don’t trust myself, because I’m in here with my feelings telling me what to do, and I don’t know where they come from and they’re not reasonable, and before I know it I don’t know the difference between my head, my heart and my feet. But I don’t know what I’m saying, and now I’m wondering what I’m doing.”

Festival Embassy takes place on Saturday 6 May at The House of St Barnabas. Tickets are available from hosb.org.uk
