Runners enduring punishing preparation for April’s London Marathon have something to be cheerful about: the arrival of Nike’s most well-cushioned shoe to date.
The Nike Epic React Flyknit, out on 22nd February, has been two years in the making at the Nike Sports Research Lab and was tested over 17,000 miles (or 649 marathons). It promises to be “5% lighter, 11% softer and offers 10% greater energy return than its predecessor” (the Nike LunarEpic Low Flyknit 2).
The best claim of all from the new foam sole is that it “delivers the energy return needed to stay fresh late in a run”, which is music to the ears of all runners battling through those final miles. The Flyknit bootie is a beauty too.
The Nike Epic React will be available February 22 on nike.com and at select retailers
